For an alluring trekking destination for the weekends, Nag Tibba in the hinterlands of Garhwal is a ten on ten. With 9,915 ft maximum altitude, it is perfectly suitable for beginners and children, poses no threat of altitude sickness, offering a thoroughly enlivening trek instead. Anyone staying in and around Delhi can plan Nag Tibba- the highest peak of the Nag Tibba range in the Lesser Himalayas, for a rejuvenating weekend in the calm depths of forested mountains. With a couple of days added to the trek, “the queen of the hills” Mussoorie can be covered too.

Starting from Pantwari, a quiet hamlet in the vicinity of Dehradun-Mussoorie, the trek begins up a rocky ascent and after a couple of hours on the trail, enters the grove of oaks and rhododendrons. In warmer times on this path, you will be greeted with summer blossoms and greenery while winter comes with abundance of snow. The camping for the night is in a clearing at the edge of the forest, overlooking the undulations of the Lesser Himalayan green slopes expanding far and beyond. The trek goes on up to Nag Tibba base, marked by a temple dedicated to the serpent god, and from there to Nag Tibba top. The climax of the hike comes with the unveiling of a vision of the Gangotri group of peaks. From the high point of Nag Tibba, you can mark out Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath and Chanabang—all absolutely mesmerizing snow peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas!

Day 1 :- Dehradun to Pantwari village and trek to Camp 1

• Pickup at 6:30 am, reach Pantwari village by 12:00 noon

Nag tibba Trek, Details  Itinerary

Day 1 : Pick up to you from Dehradun Railway station to Nawgano Village Road head (123 km) by taxi (4/5 hrs) same day trek to Nag tibba base camp .03 km Over night stay in tents.

Day 2 : After breakfast from Nagtibba base camp to Nagtibba summit (9915 mt) back to camp – have some lunch and trek to Nawgano road head same day drive to Mussoorie / Dehradun take the night train from Dehradun to Delhi.

Post breakfast start the trek to the Forest Rest House ( 2500m). Expect to reach the camp at 1pm, 5-6 hours of trekking. In the evening visit the Nag Tibba temple. Nag tibba Base to Climb to top of Nag Tibba top(9955ft) back to nagtibba Base camp . The first name of Nag Tibba has been driven from ‘Nag Devta’. ‘Tibba’ is a local word for hill or peak. In order to get the protection for the cattle, the local villagers come here to worship. Nag Tibba trek (Altitude: 9915 ft) is one of the most liked short treks, near Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. Far from maddening crowd, those who want to view the panoramic sights of Himalaya range, dense forest and wild life, Nag Tibba trekking is best suited trekking route.

The path is overgrown and becomes steeper and more obscure as you ascend towards the 10,000 ft mark. You pass the Nag Devta Temple, a tiny replica of the Devalsari pagoda, where the local villagers pray to the Nag Devta (snake God) for the protection of their cattle. Eventually reach for the site of the ruined bungalow sited for a stunning snow view of Bandarpunchh, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Swargarohini , Changabang and many other peaks. From here, you have to force a way eastwards up the steep and densely forested summit ridge.

The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kgs. Backpack should have waterproof cover. Suitcases/strolleys/ bags will not be allowed.

It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, andcancellation charges would be as follows

Up to 30 Days: – 90% of Trek/adventure program cost will be refund. 

Between 21 – 30 Days: – 50% of Trek/Adventure/Tour/Travel/Hotel program cost will be refund.
